Area Information

Ham Lake Park fishing dockThe Ham Lake area's wide array of lakes, rivers, extensive wetlands and parks systems provide opportunities to experience and learn about the outdoors. Four regional parks offer horseback riding, camping and picnicking. Families will want to "surf" the four-foot waves at the area's wave pool located at Bunker Hills Regional Park. If golfing is on your agenda, be sure to check out one or more of the eight courses located in Ham Lake area communities. Whether you're looking for relaxation or going for the burn, you'll find just what you're looking for in one of the many parks or facilities available throughout the Ham Lake area communities.

Each community in the Ham Lake area is populated with unique events and attractions, plus some of the best values in accommodations, dining, shopping, golf and recreation anywhere in the Twin Cities. All are just minutes from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Visitors can take advantage of the many outdoor activities offered by the lakes, rivers, parks and trails found throughout the area.

Sports fans will delight in the USA Cup (the world's second largest youth soccer tournament) or the PGA's Senior Open tournament. If you're attending a convention, sports event or concert, consider staying in the calmer, less-hectic northern end of the metro region.

Ham Lake Snowbowl Golf TournamentThe Ham Lake Area Chamber of Commerce hosts two major events during the year, the Ham Lake Snowbowl and the Ham Lake Open. The Snowbowl is held mid-winter and offers the opportunity for the entire metro area community to spend a day embracing all that a Minnesota winter has to offer. The Ham Lake Open is held each August and is an opportunity to spend an afternoon on the golf course with area business leaders.

The Ham Lake Development Company (HLDC) is a non profit (501C3) organization that’s mission is to offer low interest loans to businesses moving into Ham Lake or for expansion of current businesses. This helps to improve the local commercial development while creating new jobs at the livable wage rates, therefore improving the overall local economy in the Ham Lake area.
